Cacoy Doce Pares / CTS / Martial Arts

Curriculum Preferences

Counterpoint Tactical Systems (CTS) is a diverse system that offers training in a number of ranges with or without weapons. It’s natural for practitioners to gravitate to one portion of the system more than the others. While we learn the entire curriculum, we may prefer one portion over the others. I certainly do. I love the single stick curriculum. Whether it’s short range, Cacoy Doce Pares sensitivity/reaction training or the long range, Pekiti Largo timing/range training, I love it. This material is what I get most excited about. I have a lot of fun with knife tapping and empty hand sparring, but the corto and largo sparring are much more satisfying to me than other parts of the curriculum.

What’s your favorite part of the martial arts?
